What is yoga?
While yoga is rooted in Indian philosophy, it has become a popular way to promote physical and mental well-being. Yoga is a mixture of movement (asana), breath work (pranayama), and meditation (dyana) that can benefit anyone regardless of age, gender, size, race, ethnicity, sexuality, spirituality, fitness level, or socioeconomic status. You do not have to look or act a certain way to practice yoga. rOming Yoga is a community for all!
How can yoga help me?
Some of the most common benefits cited by practitioners include:

– improved flexibility

– improved posture and balance
Do I need any yoga experience?
No! Many of our classes are geared toward beginners. We offer a beginner series for 6 weeks and any of our gentle and Yin classes are appropriate for all levels.
What if I am not flexible, haven’t exercised in a while, have never taken a group class?
Yoga is available to anyone regardless of age, gender, size, or fitness level. If you can breathe, you can practice yoga.
What if I have a medical condition?
Please always make sure that you are cleared by your physician to practice movement before coming to class. We ask that you notify the instructor if you have any special concerns or things happening in your body that might impact your practice.
What should I wear to class?
Be sure to wear comfortable, fitted clothing; no fancy yoga clothes needed! Just make sure that you can move comfortably without clothing rising up or falling down. Yoga is practiced with bare feet so easily removable shoes are helpful.
What should I bring to class?
You are welcome to bring your own mat and props if you own them; otherwise, we have all of the things you will need to practice. Don’t forget to bring an open mind and a willingness to discover more about yourself. Be sure to hydrate and have a small snack sometime prior to class (yoga on a full stomach is not fun!).
What happens when I arrive at the studio?
When you walk into our studio, you will see areas to place your belongings and slip off your shoes. We ask that you leave shoes in the designated area outside of the practice studio. Please place your phone on silent so as not to disturb the practice. The instructor will speak with you to sign in and discuss any issues you are experiencing as well as let you know what props are needed for the practice that day.
What about scents in your studio?
We know that many people are allergic or have reactions to incense/essential oils. We will only use these with prior approval from members. Please let your instructor know if you have allergies/sensitivities. We ask that our members not wear any perfume or heavily scented lotions to class for everyone’s safety as well.
What class should I take?
You are always welcome to try any class at rOming Yoga, there are no prerequisites or requirements. Click below to see a description of the class types that we teach.
How do I sign up for a class?

What if my question wasn’t answered?
We are always happy to speak with you and address any questions, comments, or concerns you have. Click below to get in touch with us!
– If you are not feeling well, please stay home. The practice will be waiting for you when you are healthy.
– Please arrive early or on time for your class in order to respect the time of the instructor and fellow students. Arriving early gives you time to switch gears and come into your practice without a rush. If you arrive a few minutes late, please come in quietly and gently; no throwing your mat down!
-Leave your shoes outside in the designated area and be sure not to grab someone else’s when you leave.
– Place your phone on silent and outside the studio if possible. This will help you tune into your body. If you are on call or awaiting a call in an emergency situation, please let the instructor know before class.
– Since breath work is a part of the practice of yoga, your fellow students and instructor ask that you come to class clean and without heavy smelling perfumes, oils or lotions.
– Listen to your body and take sips of water or breaks as necessary! We are here to lead you, you are here to take care of yourself!
– If you need to leave early, we ask that you leave before the final resting pose, Savasana. This pose is meant to be introspective and packing up during this period is disruptive to fellow students.
– Clean up your area and place props back as you found them when practice ends.
– Don’t take yourself too seriously! Yoga is meant to be a joyful movement practice for your body.
